Marie Callender's > FAQs
- Are Marie Callender’s Corn Bread mixes Kosher?
- All of our products are Orthodox Union (OU) Kosher Certified: our Original and Honey Butter Corn Bread Mixes are OU-D (OU-Dairy) Certified. Our Organic and Gluten-Free Corn Bread Mixes are OU Certified.
- Are your products certified organic, gluten-free or Non-GMO?
- We have a Gluten-Free Corn Bread Mix and an Organic Corn Bread Mix, both of which are non-GMO.
- Can I use a product beyond the “Best By" date?
- We do not recommend you consume a product past the Best By date. The oils used in the mix will go rancid, causing a bitter or metallic aftertaste.
- Where are Marie Callender’s Corn Bread Mixes made?
- All Marie Callender’s Corn Bread Mixes products are made at the Custom Bakehouse manufacturing facility in Santa Fe Springs, CA. Custom Bakehouse is an OU Kosher facility, Organic Certified facility, Certified Gluten Free Protocol, and a Licensed Milk Products Dairy plant.
- Can I use milk instead of water?
- Yes, milk may be used in place of water substituting 1 to 1.
- Can I add corn?
- Yes, add one small can of drained corn to the dry mix prior to adding water and stir corn kernels into the mix to coat, this will prevent corn from settling to the bottom of the pan.
- Can I add creamed corn?
- No, we don’t recommend using creamed corn as it will cause the mix to become gummy.
- Can I add jalapenos?
- Yes, add to dry mix prior to adding to water.
- Can I use a microwave instead of an oven to bake my cornbread?
- No, we do not recommend using the microwave.
